COMS (Commercialization
of Micro and Nano Systems Conference) is the world's
most important meeting place for all those bringing
emerging small technologies from concept to the
marketplace. It addresses issues on an international
front, gathering input from MNT leaders representing
regions all over the globe. COMS is connecting the
international Micro-Nano marketplace!

This workshop brings
together experts from diverse disciplines to
evaluate how the field of risk analysis can address
the considerable uncertainties currently associated
with impacts from nanoscale materials and
nanotechnologies. The rapidly expanding development
and use of nanoscale materials has generated new
challenges for the approaches historically applied
to guide health, safety, and environmental
protection. Unique properties of these materials
could have significant implications for basic
components of the traditional paradigm for informing
risk management decisions: hazard identification,
exposure and dose-response assessments, and risk
characterization.

The 6. NanoEurope,
leading European exhibition for the transfer of
nanotechnology know-how, will be held in St.Gallen,
Switzerland from September 16 – 17, 2008. The
international congress will present successful
commercial nanotechnology applications and introduce
new scientific knowledge that can be commercialized.
The exhibition, held concurrently with the congress,
offers businesses from a wide range of technology
sectors a platform to display solutions for
commercializing nanotechnology research results.

The 2008 Cleveland
NanoMedicine Summit, is the anchor event for Nano
Week in Cleveland (in its fifth year) and will be
co-hosted by NorTech's Nano-Network, the Cleveland
Clinic Foundation and Case Western Reserve
University. This conference has been incredibly
successful in the past (as evidenced by national
media attention and feedback from attendees) by
bringing together scientists, clinicians, business
professionals, investors and others to learn,
discuss and interact under the umbrella of
nanomedicine. We expect this year’s conference to be
held over the course of two days on Thursday and
Friday, September 25 and 26 at the Ritz Carlton in
Cleveland, Ohio. Read More >> |

The rapidly developing
field of nanotechnologies presents many
opportunities and benefits for new materials with
significantly improved properties as well as
revolutionary applications in the fields of energy,
environment, medicine, etc. The industrial
production and use of nanoparticles will be the
driving force for the emerging new materials
industry of the 21st century. However, the potential
impact of these new materials on human health and
the environment is viewed with apprehension. This is
the purpose of NANOSAFE2 which is an EU funded
Integrated Project divided into four subprojects,
where different groups work on selected subjects.
